New Book Alert: The Age of Witches by Louisa Morgan

How are you doing? It's kinda crazy thinking about how my last blog post was from two weeks ago and how everything has changed since then, thanks to COVID-19.

I'm fortunate enough to be a freelance writer that already works from home, so my day-to-day hasn't really changed as much as others. I can't even imagine how things are for the people keeping everything running for the rest of us: healthcare professionals, food service workers, cashiers, postal workers...thank you all.

SO, while stuck in quarantine, I've been balancing reading binges with...well, other binges. Netflix, Disney movies, Bon Appetit playlists on YouTube. Plus, some very nice book publishers were kind enough to send me copies of upcoming books, and this is one of them.

The Age of Witches by Louisa Morgan

Thank you to Orbit Books and Bibliofinder for sending me an ARC of this book!

If you like witchy movies, TV shows, and books, you'll want to check out The Age of Witches. It comes out on April 7th.

Synopsis from the publisher

In Gilded Age New York, a centuries-long clash between two magical families ignites when a young witch must choose between love and loyalty, power and ambition, in this magical novel by Louisa Morgan.

In 1692, Bridget Bishop was hanged as a witch. Two hundred years later, her legacy lives on in the scions of two very different lines: one dedicated to using their powers to heal and help women in need; the other, determined to grasp power for themselves by whatever means necessary.

This clash will play out in the fate of Annis, a young woman in Gilded Age New York who finds herself a pawn in the family struggle for supremacy. She'll need to claim her own power to save herself-and resist succumbing to the darkness that threatens to overcome them all.

I adore witchy stuff (Practical Magic, Hocus Pocus, all that) so I'm really excited to dive into this book! As soon as I finish The Girl with the Louding Voice and Love and Other Words, I'll most likely pick up The Age of Witches.

Remember that indie bookstores around the world are struggling like any other small business right now. Pick up The Age of Witches at your local bookstore! If you're not sure where your closest one is, you can use Bibliofinder's search tool to find one.
